One of my favorite items of clothing is the classic pencil skirt.  The flattering length and fit can pull together any outfit and make you look professional in an instant.

Robe crazy

Robes might not be considered the chicest item of clothing, but they are the most comfortable way to hang out in one's house (a close second is the onesie, but that's a whole different post). They also gain a little appeal when you learn Marilyn Monroe used to hang out in the same white robe constantly.  One of her friends even recollected the time when Bobby Kennedy came over and Marilyn greeted him the tattered thing.

 

 

People who know me well know that I have a great collection of robes but only wear the same purple one over and over.  It took a cactus attack for me to get rid of my original cream robe many years ago.

But I'm going to try to start wearing the other ones I've collected over the years, starting with this cute heather gray Victoria's Secret one.

Diamond Stud Earrings

A few years back I purchased a pair of 1 carat Diamond Stud Earrings.  I knew it was going to be a wise purchase-- a piece of jewelry I would be wearing for the rest of my life.  And I've worn them for almost every single day since!  I feel like a great pair of classic diamond studs match anything and last forever.

Denim Days

Over the past couple of months I've purchased three pairs of quality J BRAND jeans. I'm happy to say that I got 25% and $25 off (for a total of $50 off) two pairs of J BRANDs from Bloomingdale's (free shipping and no tax) and then got a pair from Nordstrom at $50 off.  I've been loving the cropped trend because it's flattering on skinny legs (like mine) and great for showing off your heels or cute Oxford flats à la Kendall Jenner (see my J. Crew 'Cleo' Loafer post).

High Waisted

I LOVE LOVE LOVE high waisted pants, especially jeans.  I was incredibly lucky to have found H&M's new pair of light denim High Waisted Wide Leg jeans.  These are sold out online (you can always check to see if they re-stock here) and almost impossible to find, but my local H&M had them! In my size and they fit perfectly.
