This year I decided to be Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra... though I just looked like Cleopatra.  Somehow I managed to create my entire costume without buying anything! 

Dolce & Gabbana 'Miss Sicily Classic' Leopard Print Calf Hair Satchel

This is one of the most beautiful bags I've EVER seen.  It is made of leopard print calf hair and a transparent panel, surrounded by lace.  I've never seen a bag like it.  It is sold out and costs $3,000 so I won't be buying it.  But I wanted to share its beauty.

H&M at Fashion Place Mall November 10th!

I was walking my dog through Fashion Place Mall today and he looked up at the giant H&M poster (where the store is being built) and started barking hysterically at the giant "man" on the poster.  It was so funny.  I did ask when  the store opened and got the answer: Thursday, November 10th.  I will be there before all my sizes are gone!

Tom Ford

Tom Ford is one of the most genius designers alive right now.  I could listen to him talk for hours.  He's so articulate and everything he says is interesting.  This documentary looks amazing & I can't wait to see it.  It premiere this Sunday on OWN at 8pm.

I love Beyoncé.  I can't really explain why.  I usually don't like such huge stars, but she is truly talented.  I send my poor little sister tons of her songs even though she doesn't really like her voice (she says it sounds too emotional and strained for her, which I find so hilarious).  I love her new "Countdown" video though. With so many references to other dancers and films, it just cheers you up to watch it.          

                                                                                            

My Week with Marilyn

Marilyn Monroe is my favorite actress and has been for years (my favorite actor is Orson Welles, but that's another post).  She glows in every photograph & frame in her films.  When I heard they were making a film about her I was excited, but skeptical that any other actress could play her.  Then I heard it was Michelle Williams.  I don't love her.  I wasn't expecting anything from her.  But yesterday I finally saw the trailer for the movie and I have to admit I am impressed.  I actually think Michelle Williams has done a good job of capturing Marilyn's facial expressions and mannerisms.  I may have to watch this movie now.

                             

Emma Stone

I love Emma Stone.  She is so adorable & hilarious in Easy A, a movie I never thought I was going to like until I watched it.  Her fashion sense is perfect. Every time I see her on a red carpet she looks amazing.

Animal Ear Hat!

This is the ONLY thing I'm looking forward to winter for: my new faux fur animal hat.

I will miss the delicious yellow heirloom tomatoes from our garden though, along with the sun, summer dresses, flip-flops & sandals, fedoras, and lots of other things...

And there has been so much criticism of the new Dior designer lately.  I thought that this dress looked remarkably similar to a look from Elie Saab from last year. What do you think?  Any similarities?
